#14 Reunion at the Home of Sakakawea

The 3rd and final event to be hosted by a Tribal nation, Reunion at the Home of Sakakawea was presented by the Mandan-Hidatsa-Arikara Nation at the Fort Berthold Reservation, New Town, North Dakota.

The August 2006 event honored the contributions of Sacagawea and commemorated Lewis & Clark’s 1806 reunion with the Mandans and Hidatsas on the expedition’s return trip to St. Louis.

Tribal programming includes:

Opening Ceremony: Grand entry, Tribal flag procession, Flag Song, Victory Song, Star Spangled Banner sung by Miss Indian America, Blessing by Tribal elder Roy Bird Bear, Welcome and Keynote Address by Chairman Tex G. Hall, Remarks by Circle of Tribal Advisors Chairman Allen Pinkham, Sr.

Tribal Leadership Panel on Tribal Sovereignty.
